Being A Freelancer – Benefits & Drawbacks
Posted on November 17th, 2010 No commentsThere are a lot of people who don’t want to be an employee anymore and dream of becoming a freelancer. While in a 9 to 5 job the employer has a lot of influence on when and how you work, as a freelancer you can determine your own ways to get the work done, as long as you meet the necessary quality and deadlines. Below we will go deeper into several positive and negative aspects of being a freelancer.
Most freelancers like the fact that they can make more money for each hour they work. When one is working for an employer there is of course the advantage that in difficult times you know what you earn; the risk is for the employer. This is a pivotal point for a lot of starting freelancers: they don’t anticipate for the hard times and go broke after the first year.
The freedom to plan your work when it suits you is one of the charms of being a freelancer. When the sun shines you can go to the beach and work a bit longer at night. But it is not always sweetness and light, when work needs to be finished because you have a certain deadline you need to meet, you might have to work day and night.
“No boss” is a dream for many people. No restrictions, no comments, but on the other hand also no compliments and no guidance. It is hard “to know it all”. You have to be able to create the final product in good quality and on time. You need to be really competent or be able to work with other freelancers and delegate things you are not really familiar with.
As a freelancer there is hardly any control from a group. As long as your work has proper quality and is delivered in time, you will see happy faces. However, some experience a lack of social contacts. Even if your colleagues might not be the type of people you’ll invite at home, it is still nice to work in a group where you have fun and get assistance.
So, sometimes it can be tough, working as a freelancer. When things don’t run like you want them to run, or when you’re confronted with setbacks, you have to be able to get yourself through without any push or help from a superior. If you are not the type of person to really demand things from yourself, you shouldn’t choose a freelancer lifestyle.

The Many Ways To Your Online Success.
Posted on February 10th, 2010 No commentsI’ve been what they call a “domainer” for a few years now, trying to develop and test the best ways to make money online. All I wanted was some residual income to pay for some bills at least with minimal effort. I mean, I wasn’t looking at making millions overnight or trying to get rich quickly, no. I was after something steady, reliable and most of all… mine!
I used to buy and sell domain names after doing the usual research, but you know, although it’s a great way to make a living, it just wasn’t for me. I kept looking on and I thought I’d start getting into the development side. So I started to dabble into web designing and scripts and basic programing. All to no avail! I just didn’t have the know-how to get the job done, and quite frankly, I just didn’t have the money to pay for outsourcing. So I left it all for a little while (around 6 months).
I later started getting ideas slowly brewing in my head during that time. I had wild ideas that would have cost an arm and a leg! But I need them! LOL. Anyway, after 6 years of trying to “crack-the-code”, so to speak; I finally started to make money on Hosting and Dropshipping. There’s many ways to making money via the web and I’m sure you have your own methods that work, but these seem to work for me. It’s hard in the beginning, but the hard work WILL pay off… I promise you!
Just listen/read the instructions and advice, and most of all… be patient! I will elaborate the methods I have learned from other pro’s and used them to succeed for myself. Now I will pass the “love” over to you all. So that YOU don’t have to go through the same mistakes I did and spend thousands of dollars trying! (The posts on this will be announced soon)…
Besides the two methods I have mentioned above, there are many other methods to make money online. These examples below are just a few (for now) and I will keep this page updated on new links and ideas.
- Adsense (where you can make money from Google by displaying advertisements).
- Adwords (where you can make money by advertising your site on Google, thereby increasing your traffic and therefore, sales. This is an area I would NOT recommend for anyone new. It takes an expert to make money from Adwords and I would suggest getting professionals to do the job for you, if you are looking at spending a bit of money on advertising/marketing).
- Affiliate Marketing (make money by displaying ads on your site for a certain fee, like Google’s Adsense. There are other companies such as; Commission Junction, Yahoo!, AdBrite, and so on, to choose from).
- eBay Selling (where you can sell personal items for sale on eBay. Not only this, it will open the door for you to learn more about the Dropshipping business when you’ve run out of items! But again, that’s for later.)
If you have any suggestions that you would like to add to this article, or anywhere on the site, then please feel free to register and start posting your own blogs? Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy SwiftMoneyMaker.com more and more as time goes on.
